2008-09 Champions for Youth Honored

5/14/09 - The Mountain View/Los Altos Challenge held the Annual Champions for Youth Breakfast on Wednesday, May 13, 2009.  Katherine Comesana and Marco Garcia were selected by their peers and fellow community members to be honored this year.  The Mountain View Voice wrote two articles for our Champions, Katherine Comesana and Marco Garcia.  Click here to view photos from the event (coming soon).

 Challenge Bicycle Ride 2009

5/4/09 - The Annual Challenge Bicycle Ride took place on Sunday, May 3rd, 2009 with over 500 participants in the inaugural community ride.  Many of the participants also signed the petition which will be sent to the Honorable Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.  Check out the event website, www.challengebicycleride.org, for event photos, petition, and more. 

2008-09 Champions for Youth Selected

4/15/09 -  The Mountain View/Los Altos/Los Altos Hills is proud to announce that Katherine Comesana and Marco Garcia have been selected as 2008-09 Champions for Youth.  Both are currently officers with the Mountain View Police Department.  We usually select only one champion per year, but our committee couldn't decide between these two outstanding individuals; thus, this year we have two champions.  They were both nominated because of their leadership and work with youth outside of their job responsibilities.  They will be recognized at the annual Champions for Youth Breakfast on May 13, 2009.  Brian Copeland will provide the keynote address for this event.  Check the Calendar at left for more information about this event.
